Grow Your Biz Without Burning Out: The Case for Intuitive Marketing
Have you ever followed a marketing plan that looked great on paper but felt completely wrong when you went to implement it?
For me, that used to be the case every 6 weeks, when I was following a “Live Launch” marketing strategy. Despite having 6-figure weeks with this strategy, the model completely drained me, taxed my email and social media community, and left me feeling disconnected from my audience (and myself).
If you have ever felt this way when it comes to marketing your business, you’re not alone. Many business owners have been taught to prioritize formulas, funnels, and “best practices” over their own intuition.
The good news is that there are many other ways to market your business in a way that makes your nervous system happy!
When I had the courage to let go of “Live Launch” and focus on intuitive marketing that honored my energy, instincts, and the natural season of my business, everything changed.
What Is Intuitive Marketing?
Intuitive marketing is marketing that’s guided by you—your inner wisdom, your lived experience, and the values that drive your work.
And, most importantly, intuitive marketing is about creating strategies that feel aligned, not forced.
This approach isn’t about throwing strategy out the window. It requires you to blend smart planning with a deep respect for your own rhythms.
Sometimes, that means being visible and bold. Other times, it means resting or quietly building behind the scenes. (Believe me, I learned the hard way that you can’t be “on” and in “growth mode” every 6 weeks—it’s a recipe for disaster!)
At its core, intuitive marketing is regenerative. It supports sustainable growth without burnout. You create in ways that nourish you, so your business can thrive long-term.
Why Intuitive Marketing Works
Here’s the truth: your audience can feel the difference between marketing that’s aligned and marketing that’s performative. When your messaging comes from a place of authenticity and joy, it resonates more deeply and that connection improves trust, community, and sales.
When you honor your seasons and energy, your marketing is also more sustainable. You’re not forcing visibility during a season of rest or pushing offers when your heart isn’t in it. That means you show up at your best, and your audience gets the best of you, all the time.
Recently, I helped a client pause her marketing completely during a season of personal grief.
When she returned to her business, she didn’t need to start over. Her community welcomed her back with open arms because the connection she’d built was based on real human emotions, and she was honest about her “season” during this time.
It was beautiful to witness her humanness when she shared the reason for the pause, as well as the out-pouring of support to her, upon her return.
How to Practice Intuitive Marketing
So, how can you bring intuitive marketing into your business?
- Tune into your energy. Ask yourself regularly: What feels light and expansive right now? What feels heavy or forced? Let that guide your next move.
- Align with your seasons. Are you in a season of rest, visibility, or creativity? Give yourself permission to adjust your marketing accordingly.
- Let your body guide your timing. If something feels off, pause. If something feels like a full-body yes, go for it, even if it’s not on the calendar.
- Lead with story, not scripts. Share what’s real for you. When inspiration strikes, speak from the heart. Your people will feel the difference.
